Happy birthday to Canada! In celebration of Canada turning 150 years old, we’re celebrating the country's birthday with traditional Kidspark fun with a nod to Canada. Join us for an exciting day jam packed with activities, entertainment, music, art, and crafts.

ImagineIt Kitchener Island

Join us on the ImagineIt Kitchener Island for loads of fun with ESQ, and community organizations that are supporting youth literacy. On ImagineIt Kitchener Island you will find fun, hands on activities aimed at reading and literacy including multiple story times, readings of Canadian authored books, crafts, games and more!

Happy Birthday Canada!

Brand New for 2017, we’re celebrating Canada 150 with a birthday party hosted by The Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery.  Make and take birthday party themed art, enjoy interactive art exhibits and the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony. 

Canadian Landscape Banner: Explore Canada with us! Use the provided images of landscapes across Canada or create your own symbols using fabrics and paper to thread and weave together.

Animals Birthday Hats: Trace your hands.  What part of an animal, native to Canada, could they form? A moose? A seal? A beaver? Attach them to a party hat, add eyes and a nose and wear your hat to celebrate Canada’s birthday!

Kitchener Wilmot Hydro Community Train Station

Did you know? Kitchener was the first city in Ontario to receive hydro in homes?  Stop by and learn more from our friends at Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro.  Plus, all aboard the community train!

Bell Media Active Kitchener Try-Athlete Zone

Become a “try-athlete” for the day and learn more about local sport groups in the Bell Media Active Kitchener Zone.   Try out a sport you’ve never played before, learn how to get involved and get information on how to sign up for one of the many minor sports groups in the area.

The Waterloo Region Record

Look on site for the Region’s most read local paper.  The Waterloo Region Record staff will be out showing support of their Kids to Camp program with face painting.

Bike Kitchener

Bike with your family to KidsPark and park your bike with Bikecheck for FREE while you and your kids enjoy all of the fun activities without having to worry about your bike. 

Bikes of all shapes and sizes are welcome and helmets and other accessories can be left with your bike.

KidsAblility

Stop by KidsAbility’s sensory-friendly area staffed by their knowledgeable team at KidsPark. This area provides a break for children who might be feeling overwhelmed. There will also be colouring sheets, temporary tattoos and information so you can learn more about services available in our community.

 

Playing the Part: An introduction to Acting

With Green Light Arts

Green Light Arts is a theatre company based in Waterloo Region. Come meet the team, learn about our education programs for those in grades 1 to 12, and play some theatre games!
